Virginia "Gigi" Hall

Virginia "Gigi" Hall, 79, of Mt. Vernon died 4:38 p.m. Aug. 15, 2005, at her residence in Mt. Vernon.

She was a telephone operator for Illinois Bell.

Ms. Hall was born June 11, 1926, in Mt. Vernon to William M. and Lelia (Boyd) Hall.

Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Friday at Hughey Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon. Mike Sheets will officiate. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Mt. Vernon. Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Hughey Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon.

Ms. Hall is survived by four nephews, Scott Hall and wife Denise of Minnesota, Kim Hall and wife Susan of DeSoto, Mo., Brad Hall of Red Bud and Sean Hall and wife Gayla of Mt. Vernon; a niece, Cheryl Nichols and husband Jeff of Mt. Vernon; and two sisters-in-law, Virginia Skelton and husband John of Mt. Vernon and Eleanor Hall of St. Louis. Several great-nieces and great-nephews also survive, who were all very special to her, along with her Meadowbrook Church family.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Bob and Bill Hall.

Ms. Hall was a member of Meadowbrook Christian Church in Mt. Vernon and Telephone Pioneers and Retired Operators. She was an avid Cardinals fan and loved to travel.

For those who wish, memorials may be given to Meadowbrook Christian Church and will be accepted at the funeral home or may be mailed to Hughey Funeral Home, P.O. Box 721, Mt. Vernon, IL 62864. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Hughey Funeral Home, where you may call 242-3348 for further information.
