William J. Haley

Funeral services for William Haley were conducted at 2:00 pm today at the Pulley Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Roy Beal Officiating. Burial was in Hopewell Cemetery.

Mr. Haley, of Waltonville, died at 11:20 pm Saturday at Good Samaritan Hospital. He was 85 years, ten months, and ten days old.

Mr. Haley was born Dept. 20, 1874, in Jefferson County, the son of Hubbard and Rhoda (Sechrest) Haley.

He was married to Cora Brookman, who preceded him in death.

He later married Mary Jane Walker, who died Jan. 1 of this year.

He was also preceded in death by two sons, a daughter, and a sister.

Survivors include five sons, Jesse and Lawrence Haley of Greenville, Ill., Sam Haley of Mt. Vernon, Lloyd Haley of Collinsville, and Herman Haley of Waltonville; two sisters (daughters), Mrs. Cecil Parsons of Carlyle and Mrs. Beulah Fields of West Monroe, La.; a brother, Charles Haley and a sister, Mrs. Julia Black, both of Mt. Vernon; 26 grandchildren; 50 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren.

Mr. Haley was a member of the Hopewell Methodist Church.
