Samuel F. Haley

Samuel F. Haley, 76, of Odell died 6:15 a.m. Nov. 8, 2002, at Midwest Kidney Center in Pontiac. He worked for Caterpillar of 30 years, retiring in 1982 as a quality assurance manager.

Mr. Haley was born May 17, 1926, in Mt. Vernon to Samuel and Mame (Nelson) Haley.

He married Leona Mamer June 5, 1943, in Hopkinsville, Ky.; she died Sept. 30, 1993.

Funeral services will be held 3 p.m. Sunday at Duffy Funeral Home in Odell. Pastor Don Leonard will officiate. After the service, he will be cremated and graveside service will be held 3 p.m. Nov. 17 at Hopewell Cemetery in Mt. Vernon.

Mr. Haley is survived by three sons, Sam H. Haley and wife Gloria of Odell, Bill J. Haley and wife Paula of Houston and Mike W. Haley and wife Chris of Wauseon, Ohio; a daughter-in-law, Lynn Haley of Broson, Fla.; two brothers, Wayne Haley and wife Tola of Dwight and Wilbur Haley and wife Vivian of Mt. Vernon; two sisters, Dorothy Jean Martin and Mary Louise Runnels; five grandchildren, John Haley and wife Kenna of Pontiac, Jim Haley and wife Sue of Odell, Tammi Fulk and husband Tim of Mt. Carmel, Ron Haley of Davie, Fla., and Adam Haley and wife Jennifer of Houston; and seven great-grandchildren.

He was a member of the Nazarene Church of Pontiac. He was a graduate of Bluford High School.

Mr. Haley was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Ronald S. Haley; a brother, Lee Haley; and a sister, Virginia Lemay.
