Ella (Tuttle) Hagle

From a Waltonville newspaper, 1912, re. the death of Ella (Tuttle) Hagle, wife of John Andrew Hagle:

Mrs. J.A. Hagle, nee Ella Tuttle, was born in Guernsey county, Ohio, Jan. 8, 1861, departed this life at her home near Waltonville, Jan. 23, 1912.

She was the daughter of the late Henry Tuttle who for many years was a prominent resident of this neighborhood.

At the age of seventeen years she was converted and united with the M.E. church.

She was united in marriage with J. A. Hagle Sept. 24, 1882.

To this union were born 8 children. Mrs. Christa (Hagle) Grace, Walter, Mrs. Ruby (Hagle) Fairchild, Myrtle, Harry, Iva, Victoria and Luella. Myrtle died in infancy, the others, with the father survive to mourn the departure of a loving wife and mother.

She also leaves one sister, Mrs. Linnie Freeman, and one brother W.B. Tuttle, besides a number of other relatives.

Mrs. Hagle had been a sufferer from cancer for many months but her death came as a great shock to her family, as she had been feeling greatly improved for several days, and death came very suddenly.

The bereaved have the sympathy of all who knew her. Funeral services were conducted Thursday at the M.E. church by Rev. Phelps, of Macedonia, and the pastor, Rev. B.H. Batson, and the body laid to rest in Knob Prairie cemetery.

Among those from a distance who attended the funeral obesques of Mrs. J. A. Hagle were Hon. Ben Hagle, of Louisville, Ill.; E.M. Peavler and Mrs. Victoria Peavler and daughter of Mt. Vernon: Mr. and Mrs. George Grace of Chafee, Mo.; and Walter Hagle of Iowa. Miss Iva Hagle came home from Jacksonville several days ago to be at the bedside of her mother.
