Edna (Lewis) Gulley

Mrs. Edna Gulley, 88, of Valier died Tuesday, April 24 at Pinkneyville Community Hospital, following a long illness.

Mrs. Gulley was a lifelong resident of Franklin County, and a member of the First Baptist Church of Valier

She is survived by nine children: Guy Gulley, Mulkeytown; Paul Gulley, Sesser; Kenneth Gulley, Valier; Nolan Gulley, Benton; Hattie McCormick, Orlando, Fla.; Mrs. Velma Loman, Excelsior Springs, Mo.; Mrs. Ruth Loman, Opdyke; Betty Loman, Elkville and Earlene Burlison, West Frankfort.

She also leaves 29 grandchildren; 37 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild and two sisters, Mrs. Pearl Cutler and Mrs. Orban DuBois, both of Valier.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George Gulley and her parents, Andrew Jackson and Helen Isaacs Lewis a son. Ralph two sisters and three brothers.

Funeral services were Friday at 1 p.m. at the Russell Funeral Home in Christopher.

Interment was in Maple Hill Cemetery, Sesser.

Notes provide by submitter: Edna Gulley did not die following a long illness. She died from heart failure when she contracted pneumonia 3 days before she died. Geo. and Edna Gulley were 20 year residents of the Emerson City area of Jefferson Co. IL
