Ruhlin Gregory

Ruhlin Gregory, 63, of 117 N. 6th St. died at his home at 2 am today of an apparent heart attack.

He was a retired coal miner who worked as a shuttle car operator at Freeman Mine No. 3 for the last several years.

Funeral services will be held Sunday at 1:30 pm at the Hughey-Pulley Funeral Home, with Rev. Buss Hart officiating. Burial will be in Hopewell Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 6 pm Saturday.

Mr. Gregory was born June 25, 1912, in Jefferson county, the son of Edward and Effie (Graddy) Gregory.

On August 29, 1953, in Mt. Vernon, he married Faye Russell, who survives.

He was a member of United Mine Workers of America, Local 9111.

Besides his wife, Mr. Gregory is survived by a son, Tom of Chulavista, Calif.; a daughter, Mrs. Vicky Owens of Mt. Vernon; a stepdaughter, Miss Sharon June Crowley, at home; a brother, Lester of Mt. Vernon; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, and one son Marshall.
