Funeral services for Marshall Edward Gregory, 17, of 117 N. 6th St., will be held at 1:30 pm Saturday at the Hughey-Pulley Funeral Home. Burial will be in Hopewell Cemetery.

Mr. Gregory drowned around 10:30 am Monday in the Kaskaskia River.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 5 pm today.

He was born Nov. 27, 1956, in Mt. Vernon, the son of Ruhlin and Lena Fay (Russell) Gregory. They survive.

He attended Mt. Vernon Township High School, was a member of the Old Union Missionary Baptist Church and had worked as a bus boy at the Top of the First Restaurant.

Besides his parents, survivors include a half-brother, Tom Gregory, Chula Vista, Calif.; two half-sisters, Sharon June Crowley, Mt. Vernon, and Vicky Jo Ownes, Chicago; and several aunts and uncles.
