ROY C. GREENE, 68, of Route 7, died yesterday at 3:40 p.m. at Jefferson Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services for Mr. Greene will be held Sunday at 2:00 p. m. at the Bluford Funeral Home with the Rev. Guy Williams officiating. Burial will be in East Hickory Grove cemetery.

Mr. Greene was born in Jefferson county on Sept. 30 1902, the son Alec and Sarah Brookman Greene.

He was married on Feb. 24, 1922 in Mt. Vernon to Ethel Williams, who survives.

Mr. Greene was a retired farmer, and at the time of his death was serving as tax assessor for Webber township. He was a member of the Harmony Baptist church. In addition to his wife Ethel, he is survived by five sons, Ernest Greene, Quincy, Ivan Greene, Gurnee, William Leo Greene, Aurora, Jimmie Greene, McHenry, and Dennis Greene, Elgin; and one daughter, Mrs. Donna Harris, Elgin; eight grandchildren; and four sisters, Mrs. Nora French, Texico, Mrs. Inaz Medders, Route 7, and his twin sister Mrs. Sylvia Hayes, Rt. 7.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and two sisters.
