Pfc. Raymond Dale Greear

Rites Wednesday For Pfc. Greear

Funeral services for Pfc. Raymond Dale Greear will be held at 2:00 p.m Wednesday at the Logan Street Baptist church. The Rev. Sam McCoy will officiate and burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery.

Military services will be conducted by the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

The body will arrive Tuesday morning and will remain at the Osborn Funeral Home in Dix until the funeral hour.

Pfc. Greear was born March 10, 1926 in Mt. Vernon and was reared in this city.

He entered the service June 17, 1944 and was sent overseas in the latter part of January 1945. He was killed near Chorau, Germany April 20, 1945 while serving in the 49th Division of the First Army.

Pfc. Greear was a member of the Logan Street Baptist church.

Surviving are his mother, Lela B. Greear of Indianapolis, Ind., a brother, Ray Blanchard Greear of Indianapolis; and three sisters, Mrs. Charles E. McHatton of Phoenix, Arizona, Mrs. William C. Steward and Mrs. Paul Sammons of Mt. Vernon; and two grandparents.
