Fred Gordon Dies At Age 57, Rites Tuesday

John Frederick (Fred) Gordon of 1109 S. Tweelfth street, died at 7:30 o'clock Sunday morning at the Quinn Nursing Home, 411 south 15th street. His age was 57 years, five months and eight days.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Tuesday, at Myers Chapel, conducted by the REv. Thos. Harper, and burial will be in Oakwood cemetery. The body will remain at the Chapel until the funeral hour.

Mr. Gordon was a lifetime resident of Mt. Vernon.

He was born November 20, 1888 in Mt. Vernon, the son of C.H. and Cynthia Dirden Gordon.

Surviving are one son, Everett Gordon of St. Louis, Mo.; two brothers, Ray Gordon of Berwick, Pa., and Edward Gordon of Kirkwood, Mo.; and two sisters, Mrs. Mae Ellis and Mrs. Stella Mabry, both of Mt. Vernon.
