Robert M. Garren

Robert M. Garren, 66, of Dix and formerly of Destin, Fla., died 10 p.m. Nov. 14, 1999, at his home.

Mr. Garren was retired.

He was born Sept. 11, 1933, in Centralia, a son of Ray and Gladys (Murray) Garren.

He married Marilynn K. Wimberly on Aug. 15, 1969, in Dix; she survives.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Osborn Funeral Home in Dix, with Burrell Garren and Jonathan Schnautz officiating. Burial will be at Jordan Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

In addition to his wife, survivors include daughter Joni Rae Garren of Ocean Springs, Miss.; two stepsons, Randy Campbell and his wife, Nita, of Dumas, Texas, and Ricky Campbell and his wife, Sara, of Odessa, Texas; one stepdaughter, Christy Myers and her husband, Coy, of Belleville; eight stepgrandchildren, Melissa, Keenan, Kaylee and Dylan Myers of Belleville, Josh and Rheanna Campbell of Odessa, Texas, and Brandi and Jordan Campbell of Dumas, Texas; sisters Nancy Thompson and her husband, Clay, of Salina, Kan., and Sue Berger of Henry; and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Garren attended Centralia Township High School and junior college. He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the U.S. Marine Corps. He was a member of Destin United Methodist Church in Destin, Fla., Elks Lodge 1795 in Fort Walton Beach, Fla., International Union of Operating Engineers Local 520 and the Petroleum Club in Olney.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Donald Garren.

Memorials may be made to Jordan Chapel Cemetery and will be received at the funeral home at any time.
