Harriett Galloway

Mrs. A. GALLOWAY, daughter of John ALLEN, formerly Harriett PICKETT, passed peacefully away at their home in Grape Ridge Community, near Portageville, MO., Monday, December 20, 1920. Aged 62y4m4d.

She was born and reared in Illinois near Hams Grove Church of which she was a member for some time.

She was married to W. G. PICKETT in 1878. This was a happy union and their home was blessed with 12 children, 8 boys and 4 girls, three dying in infancy. The other 8 sons and one daughter survived her.

The family moved to Missouri in 1894 where Mr. PICKETT was killed in a storm in 1897. Mrs. PICKETT remained a widow until January 1, 1901.

She was then married to Ambrose GALLOWAY. They passed 20 years of their married life in Grape Ridge Community where she was loved and held in highest esteem as a devoted christian, a faithful wife and mother.

She dies after a life of work for her Lord, and family and friends. The memory of her life of devotion and labors of love will linger with those who are left to mourn her in this world.

She leaves a husband, the sons, Ernie PICKETT, Norton L. PICKETT, Hebron B. PICKETT, Moody PICKETT of Portageville, MO., and Eldorous PICKETT of Hayti, MO., Harry PICKETT of Stewart, MO., Elza H. PICKETT of Manilla, Ark., General Dalton PICKETT of Blytheville, Ark., the daughter Rosezella TUCKER of Mt. Vernon, IL, two sisters and one brother, Mrs. George MARSHAL, Mrs. Ben SADLER, and Eldorous ALLEN, a step-daughter MRs. C. L. PICKETT of Benton, IL.

The funeral service was conducted by Rev. W. J. WARD at the home and the body was laid to rest in the beautiful Portageville Cemetery Wednesday afternoon.
