Steve Ellis

Steve Ellis, 45, of Nason departed this Earth to be with his heavenly father 5:07 p.m. June 21, 2005, at his residence in Nason.

He was a driver for Beck Bus Co. until his health failed.

Mr. Ellis was born Dec. 29, 1959, in Millington, Tenn., to Leslie and Patricia A. (Oliver) Ellis.

He married Kathy (Hall) Ellis April 21, 1990 in Kentucky; she survives.

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Friday at Calvary United Pentecostal Church in Mt. Vernon. The Rev. Steve Edwards will officiate. Interment will follow at Abner Cemetery in Nason. A military flag presentation service will be conducted by the chaplain of American Legion Post 141 in Mt. Vernon. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Calvary United Pentecostal Church in Mt. Vernon and from noon until the service time Friday at the church.

Mr. Ellis is survived by his wife, Kathy Ellis of Nason; two daughters, Stephanie Ellis of Nason and Vicki Ellis of Nason; a son, Justin Kimple of Mt. Vernon; his father, Leslie Ellis and wife Ramona of Mt. Vernon; his mother, Pat Hicks of Mt. Vernon; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Kenny and Norma Hall; three brothers, Mike Ellis and wife Cindy of Mt. Vernon, Mark Ellis and wife Kelly of Mt. Vernon and Tim Ellis and wife Carla of Mt. Vernon; and several nieces and nephews, along with the many children he ministered to in foster care.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents.

Mr. Ellis was a beloved and active church member of Calvary United Pentecostal Church. He has many friends and family members whom he welcomed with open arms and great hospitality. He was well loved by many and that is how he will be remembered. He will be forever missed by many as a person who was joyous and totally in love with his savior, Jesus Christ our God. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.

For those who wish, memorials may be made to the Stephanie and Vicki Ellis College Trust Fund and will be accepted at the funeral home or may be mailed to Hughey Funeral Home, P.O. Box 721, Mt.
