Charles F. Ellis

CHAS. F. ELLIS DEAD
Died at St. Louis Wednesday—Will Be Buried Here Tomorrow.

Charles F. Ellis, formerly proprietor of the Jefferson County Democrat, died in St. Louis , October 1, 1902, and his remains were brought to this city this morning for burial tomorrow evening. While it was known that Mr. Ellis was hovering between life and death with locked bowels, still the news of his death come as a shock to his friends in the community.

Mr. Ellis was born in Claremont county, Ohio , July 22, 1855, and was therefore but a couple of months past 47 years of age. At the age of four years with his parents he removed to this county, where, until last spring, he had continued to reside, working in the various printing offices, and at one time publishing a paper and still later managing a job printing office.

Some ten or more years ago he was married to Miss Lucy Land, of Carmi, who with three children, one boy and two girls, still survive him.

The services will be held at the C.P. church of which organization Mrs. Ellis is a member, at two-thirty o’clock tomorrow afternoon
