Ross J. Elkins

Ross J. ELKINS, 74, of El Paso, Tex., died Thursday in that city. He was a former resident and was a retired farmer and cattleman.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at the Ina Funeral Home, with the Rev. Olen WEATHERFORD officiating. Burial will be in Valhalla Cemetery, Belleville. Friends may call at the Ina Funeral Home after 1:30 p.m. Sunday. Masonic services, by Ewing Lodge No. 705, will be held at 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Mr. ELKINS was born in Illinois on September 23, 1900, the son of Thomas and Ola (PAYNE) ELKINS.

He was married to Helen BRIDGES, who survives.

Mr. ELKINS was a member of the Masonic Lodge in East St. Louis and St. Paul's Church in East St. Louis.

Besides his wife, he is survived by one son, Dale ELKINS, El Paso, Tex.; five daughters, Mrs. Dolores GOREE, East St. Louis, Mrs. Geri RULE, Herrin, Mrs Juanita Jean POTTER, El Paso, Tex., and Mrs. Gloria ELKINS TROUTT, El Paso, Tex., 19 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one son, who was killed in World War II.
