Jeannie Earline Easterly, 48, of Gorham died July 13, 2002 at St. Joseph Memorial Hospital. She was a licensed practical nurse at Menard Prison in Chester for several years.

Mrs. Easterly was born May 6, 1954, in Mt. Vernon to William Earl and Hazel (Felty) Riggs.

She married Michael Easterly January 15, 1973, in Mt. Vernon. He survives.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Crawshaw Funeral Home in Murphysboro. Burial will be at Walker Hill in Grand Tower. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday at Crawshaw Funeral Home.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by one daughter, Jennifer Williams and husband Jeffrey of Mt. Vernon; 2 sons, Michael E. Easterly and wife Laura of Murphysboro and Aaron Easterly of Mt. Vernon; one brother, William “Buddy” Riggs and wife Sandy of Vacaville, CA; 2 sisters, Donna Riggs-Lowery of Mt. Vernon, and Jacqueline Taylor and husband Leon of Pace, FL; two grandsons, Seth Noble Brown of Mt. Vernon, and Jerimi Jacob Kempf of Murphysboro; two granddaughters, Olivia Williams of Mt. Vernon and Elizabeth Danielle Easterly of Jacksonville, FL.
