Gertrude E. (Lamke) Dressler

Gertrude E. Dressler, 83, of Scheller passed away 9:04 a.m. March 17, 2005, at Countryside Manor in Mt. Vernon.

Mrs. Dressler was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Barbara's Catholic Church in Scheller. She was a member of AARP, Du Bois KC Auxiliary, St. Barbara's Altar Sodality and was church organist for years.

Mrs. Dressler was born Feb. 24, 1922, in Sesser, a daughter of Joseph and Clara (Glupczynski) Lamke.

She married Carl D. Dressler Sept. 28, 1942, in Scheller; he preceded her in death Nov. 6, 1989.

She then married Arthur Dressler in August of 1990 in Scheller; he preceded her in death in May 1993.

Mrs. Dressler is survived by two sons, John Dressler and wife Connie of Waltonville and Jerry Dressler and wife Sally of Ashley; two daughters, Joann Walker and husband David of Waltonville and Jeanette Rolf of Nashville; a brother, Anselm Lamke of Scheller; a sister, Irene Lamke of Scheller; nine grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; four stepgreat-grandchildren; and a stepgreat-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands; a brother, Emil Lamke; a sister, Proxeda Lamke; a sister-in-law, Hattie Lamke; and a great-granddaughter, Bailey Boldt.

Mass of Christian burial will be 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Barbara's Catholic Church in Scheller, with the Rev. Daniel Jurek officiating. Friends may call from 5 to 8:30 p.m. today at Searby Funeral Home in Tamaroa. Rosary will be prayed at 7:30 p.m. Interment will be in St. Barbara's Cemetery at Scheller. Friends may make memorials to hospice at Good Samaritan Hospital or St. Barbara?s Cemetery and they will be accepted at the funeral home.
