Frances Louise Drennan

Miss Frances Louise Drennan, a well known Mt. Vernon School teacher, died at 7:05 last night at Barnes Hospital in St. Louis, where she had been a patient for the past five weeks. Miss Drennan, who resided at 1907 Olive, was 28 years, ten months and 19 day of age.

She suffered for years with crippling arthritis and had been hospitalized for weeks.

She had been a teacher at Franklin School for the past seven years. She was pictured in a Life Magazine feature on Mt. Vernon schools with her primary class.

Miss Drennan was a member of the First Presbyterian church, where funeral services will be held Monday at 2:30 p.m. Dr. R. B. Guthrie, pastor of the church, will officiate and burial will be in Kirk cemetery.

Her many friends may call at Myers chapel after 11 a.m. Sunday. At noon Monday the body will be removed to the church, to lie in state until the funeral hour.

Miss Drennan was born December 2, 1926 in Jefferson County, the daughter of Harry and Aline (Dunbar) Drennan, both of whom survive.

She was a graduate of the University of Illinois, where she received her Bachelors Degree in 1950. She was a member of the D.A.R., the A.A.U.W., Delta Theta Tau and Pi Beta Phi, which she served as houe president her last year in school.

She was preceeded in death by a sister and a brother.
