R. Opal (Pierce) Donoho

R. Opal Donoho, 95 of Texico, passed away Wednesday, June 25, 2008, at 1 :55 a.m. at Good Samaritan Regional Health Center at Mt.Vernon.

She was born on Nov. 27, 1912, at Bluford, to Johnie and Annabelle (French) Pierce.

She married Jess Donoho on March 5, 1932, at Bluford. He preceded her in death on March 20, 1993. Opal was a homemaker and the oldest member of Wells Chapel General Baptist Church at Bluford.

She is survived by two sisters, Lorene Johnson and her husband Chester of Cisne and Norma Jean Holloway and her husband Donald of Springfield, Mo.; and one brother, Dewey Pierce and his wife Vera of Mt. Vernon.

Preceding her in death were her husband, two sisters, two brothers and her parents. Funeral services for Opal Donoho will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the New Home (Lowery) General Baptist Church at Papertown with burial to follow at Wells Chapel Cemetery.

Friends may call from noon to service time on Friday at the church.

Memorials may be made to the Wells Chapel Cemetery Fund and envelopes will be available at the church.
