Norma M. (Troue) Davison

Norma M. Davison, 90, of Mt. Vernon died 2:05 a.m. Aug. 28, 2004, at St. Mary's Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon.

She was a salesclerk with the factory outlet in Mt. Vernon and a sales clerk with a fabric store in Evansville, Ind.

Mrs. Davison was born May 7, 1914, in Steeleville to George and Emily (Wolters) Troue.

She married Harry R. Davison Nov. 21, 1937; he died Jan. 11, 1972.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday at Faith Lutheran Church in Mt. Vernon, with a graveside service to follow at 3 p.m. at Caledonia Cemetery in Sparta. Josepha Lecke will officiate. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Hughey Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon and from 10 a.m. until the time of services at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Faith Lutheran Church in Mt. Vernon.

Mrs. Davison is survived by daughters Joyce Somers and husband Lindel of Mt. Vernon, Jean Ann Outland of Frisco, Texas, June Claus and husband Dick of Salem, Ore., and Joette Rider and husband Dick of Plano, Texas; seven grandchildren, Michael Somers, Mark Somers, Lisa Dennehy, Shannon Outland, Brian Claus, Kelly Rider and Casey Rider; two great-grandchildren, Lindsay Ashburn and Randi Somers; sisters Melba Rieckenberg of Coulterville, Ruby Pfeiffer and husband Gene of San Jose, Calif., and Dorothy Alms of Belleville; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two brothers, Wilbert Troue and Roemer Troue; and a son-in-law, Jack Outland.

Mrs. Davison was a lifelong member of Faith Lutheran Church in Mt. Vernon.

She taught Sunday school for many years at Faith Lutheran Church. Her faith was very important to her.

She loved her family. She loved to sew and plant flower gardens, especially roses.
