Alice Black Dare

Alice Black Dare, daughter of Sherman and Almira Black was born August 21st, 1900 and departed this life at the home of her son Charles Ray Dare September 15th, 1954 at the age of 54 years and 25 days.

She was united in marriage to Norman Dare in 1921, he having preceded her in death April 30th, 1953.

She was affiliated with the Church of God in Mt. Vernon, Ill.

She leaves to mourn her departure besides the son, 3 brothers and 2 sisters: Edward Black of Waltonville, Ill., Clarence Black of Detroit, Michigan, Ernest Black of Mt. Vernon, Ill., Martha Wilson, Decatur, Ill., Ona Pitchford, Christopher, Ill.


Note:
I talked to Alice for the last time on Sat. the 11th of September. She lived 131 days after she came home from the hospital April 30th, 1954. She took Radium treatments May 1st, then 21 more treatments. She went to Charles's on July 31st. She was buried at West Salem Cemetery.
