Maude Laverne (Poston) Crider

Mrs. Maud Crider Dies at Age 53; Funeral Monday

Mrs. Maud Laverne Crider, of 1204 south 16th street, died at 2:40 a. m. today at Good Samaritan Hospital, where she had been a patient for the past ten days. Her age was 53 years and 11 days.

Funeral services will be held Monday at 2:00 p. m. at Myers Chapel, with the Rev. Ace Summers officiating, and burial will be in Oakwood cemetery. The body will remain at Myers Chapel, where friends may call at any time after 10 a. m. Sunday.

Mrs. Crider was born April 3, 1898 in Elk Prairie township, Jefferson county, the daughter of D. B. and Minnie (Roberson) Poston.

In 1915 she was married to Everett Crider, who survives.

Mrs. Crider was a member of the Bethel Tabernacle church.

Besides her husband, she is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Guida Pigg of Mt. Vernon; four sons, Joseph, Robert, Lowell and Nobel of Mt. Vernon; six sisters, Mrs. Gladys Stone of Sesser, Mrs. Frances Hartley of LaVerne, Calif., Mrs. Mabel Payne of Marion, Mrs. Geneva Sinks of Sullivan, Mo., Mrs. Christobel Otto of Pamona, Calif, and Mrs. Wastina Flota of Belleville; three brothers, Robert Poston of Mt. Vernon, John Poston of Joliet, Ill. and James Poston of Arizona; and seven grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by four children.
