Elmer E. Cornelius

E.E. Cornelius Dies; Rites Mon.

Elmer E. Cornelius of the fiarfield road died at Jefferson Memroial hsopital at 6:30 pm Friday. He had been a patient there nine weeks and at the time of his death was 84 years two months and 24 days of age.

Funeral services will be held Monday at Myers chapel at 10:00 am conducted by the Rev. Bird Green and the Rev. O.R. Buess. Burial will be in the Opdyke cemetery.

Mr. Cornelius was born February 24, 1867 in Jefferson county to Fred and Mary Jane (Polen) Cornelius and was married to Anna May Eller who survives. His occupation was farming and he was a member of the Opdyke Methodist church.

He is survived by his wife, two daughters, Mrs. Cecileman Allen of Mt. Vernon, Miss Irene Cornelius of South Bend, Ind.; three sons, Paul of Fenton, Ia., Lynn of Lake City, Ia., and Ben of Nashville, Tenn. Two sisters, Mrs. Ruth Berryman of Jackson, Mich., Miss Flora Cornelius of Greenwillve, Ill., 14 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren also survive.

Mr. Cornelius was first married to Lydia Margaret Smith who died August 31, 1930.

The body will lie in state at Myers chapel where friends may call afte rnoon Sunday.
