Silas Millage "Bud" Cook

Millage "Bud" Cook, 85, of Ina, died 10:38 a.m. Dec. 31, 1998 at Crossroads Community Hospital in the emergency room.

He worked for Turco Manufacturing Co.

On May 13, 1913, he was born to Silas Nubern and Ada Pauline (Long) Cook in Jefferson County.

He married Sarah (Page) Cook on Dec. 30, 1939, in Morganfield, Ky. She preceded him in death on April 21, 1987.

Services are set for 11 a.m. Tuesday at Johnston Funeral Home in Ina. Brother David Shores will officiate.

Burial will be at Kirk Cemetery in Ina. Visitation is after 5 p.m. Monday at Johnston Funeral Home in Ina.

Survivors include one son, Gary Cook and wife Mary of Ewing; four daughters, Linda Wilson of Mt. Vernon, Judy Clark and husband Eddie of Channahon, Barbara Mifflin and husband Roger of Mt. Vernon, Kathy Diez and husband Kenny of Ina; 12 grandchildren; 12 great greatgrandchildren; one brother, Leo Cook of Mt. Vernon; two sisters, Edna Settle of Ina and Lena Mae Book and husband Orval of Ina; sister-in-law Sula Kash of Ina; and special friend Ethel Nihells of Ina.

He was a protestant and precinct committeeman of Spring Garden Township for more than 20 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, one daughter, two brothers and two great-grandchildren.
