VIRGINIA COLE, 17, FOUND DEAD IN BATHTUB

She had complained of dizziness, death due to heart disease

Virginia COLE age 17, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. L. COLE of 1126 South Thirteenth Street, was found dead in the bathtub of the Ruby Rea beauty shop, 603 Main Street at 5:45 p.m. yesterday.

Dr. H. M. SWIFT who examined the girl said today that he believed that death was due to a heart attack.

Deputy Coroner, Ben Roeder was conducting an inquest into the death, at the family home, this afternoon.

Miss Cole graduated from Mt. Vernon Township High School with last years class and was employed by Mrs. Ruby WARD at the beauty shop. She was not, however, a beauty operator.

A friend of the girl said that she had been feeling bad during the day and yesterday afternoon complained of being dizzy.

About 4;45 she went to the bathroon to take a bath. One of the girls called her in a short time and she did not answer, but they did not believe that anything was wrong, but an hour later they called and she did not answer, and they became alarmed and one of the girls went outside and looked in the window and saw her slumped in the bathtub.

Stanton O. BEAN, proprietor of a gas station across the street was summoned and he broke down the bathroon door and found the young girl sitting in the bathtub and her head slumped over the rim.

Only two or three inches of water was in the tub..

A Doctor was called and the Fire-department summoned and they used the inhalator on the girl for about 40 minutes in a vain attept to restore her life.

Dr. WIFT said that there was little doubt that the death was from a heart attack.
