Benjamin F. Cole

Lifelong County Resident Dies In Bluford at Age 83

Funeral services will be held in the First Baptist church in Opodyke, Friday at 2 pm for Benjamin F. Cole, lifelong resident of Jefferson county, who died at the home of his sister, Mrs. Jesse Jones, in Opdyke, yesterday at 6 pm. He was 83 years, 9 months and 11 ddays of age at the time of his death.

The Rev. Bird Green will conduct the services and burial will be in the Shelton cemetery.

Mr. Cole was born in Madison county, Ill., May 29, 1862, the son of Benjamin and Maria (Handling) Cole.

He came to Jefferson county when he was five years of age and has made his home in the county since that time.

He is survived by five sisters, Mrs. Laura Braddford of Bluford, Mrs. Lenora Olomon of London Mills, Ill, Mrs. Ida Frost of Denver, Colo., Mrs. Leona Brown of Alton, Ill., and Mrs. Della Jones of Opdyke.

His father, mother, two sisters, and a brother preceded Mr. Cole in death.
