Fred C. Clemens

Fred C. Clemens, 80, of Route 1, died at 1:15 a.m. today at Good Samaritan Hospital.

He was a retired employee of Chicago State Hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Hughey-Pulley Funeral Home, with the Rev. Everett Lemay officiating. Burial will be in Old Orchard Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 5 p.m. Monday.

Born in Jefferson county on Sept. 6, 1893, he was the son of John Wesley and Mary Alice (Shelton) Clemens.

In 1913, he was married to Edith Marlow, who preceded him in death. He later married Jean Weimer, who survives.

Besides his wife, Jean, survivors include two sons, Roy Clemens, Mt. Vernon, and Raymond Clemens, Birmingham, Mich.; three daughters, Mrs. Pauline Henry, Chicago Heights, Mrs. Edith Bryant, Nedon, Tenn., and Mrs. Violet Branklin, Bradley; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Mrs. Effie Miller, Bluford, and Mrs. Vern Gowler, Mt. Vernon.
