Miss Bessie B. Chance, the daughter of William and Julia Chance, died at the home of her parents in East Mt. Vernon Wednesday evening, of a complication of diseases.

Miss Bessie was a bright, winsome girl, just entering the springtime of youth, and although she had only lived in our city a short time, she had made many friends and was loved and respected by all her associates.

She was born July 22, 1890, being 14 years of age.

Although her illness was far from painless, she bore it with patience, and when the end came it was as peaceful as the setting of a summer's sun.

She leaves a father, mother, two sisters and a host of friends to mourn her loss.

Funeral services were held at Hopewell Church at 2 o'clock Thursday afternoon, conducted by Rev. J.C. Kinnison, followed by interment at Hopewell Cemetery.
