Ida (Piercy) Carpenter

Ida Carpenter, 94, Las Vegas, Nev., died at 4 pm, July 22, 1986, in Las Vegas. She was a former resident of the Boyd and Dix areas.

Mrs. Carpenter was born Aug, 20, 1891, in Boyd, the daughter of Henry and Susie (Fiser) Piercy.

On July 20, 1912, in Mt. Vernon, she married Oscar Carpenter, who preceded her in death March 30, 1968.

The funeral will be 1:30 pm Saturday at Osborn Funeral Home in Dix with Bruce Hough of Dix officiating. Burial will follow in Boyd Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 6pm Friday.

Mrs. Carpenter is survived by one son. Everett Carpenter and his wife Bee of Las Vegas; five sisters, Lille Marlow of Odin, Ada Harvey of Dix, May Harvey of Aurora and Fay Poorman and Nellie Sheldon of Woodlawn; two grandchildren. Judy Wood and Betty Hill both of Los Angles and four great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Carpenter attended the Boyd School. She was a member of Boyd Christian Church.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Carpenter was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers, Willie, Nathan Bryan, Charley and Walter Piercy and two sisters, Lennie Carpenter and Margaret Wegmann.
