Benjamin F. Bullock
Benjamin F. BULLOCK, died this morning at his home two miles west
of the city, after a long illness caused by a complication of diseases.
He was about 60 years of age and was a native of this county, being a
son of George Bullock, who in pioneer days settled on a farm just this
side of West Muddy bridge. Deceased was for many years a member of the
Methodist church and no man in Shiloh township was more highly esteemed
as a citizen, Christian, neighbor and friend. He served three years
during the civil war as a member of Co. I, 44th Illinois Infantry and
was at one time a member of Coleman Post. Dr. Peters, the post commander,
requests that as many of the comrades as can do so, will attend the funeral
at Salem cemetery at 2 p.m. tomorrow. Mr. Bullock's wife died about ten years
ago, and four sons and two daughters survive him.
Funeral services tomorrow will be conducted by Rev. Wm. A. Browder.
