Ethel Buchanan

Ethel Buchanan Dies; Funeral at Wayne City

Funeral services for Mrs. Ethel Buchanan will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday at the Richardson Chapel in Wayne City. The Rev. Richard McCormick will officiate. Burial will be in Thornsworth cemtery, near Wayne City.

The body will lie in state at the Richardson Chapel where friends may call after 2:30 p.m. today.

Mrs. Buchanan, 69, a former resident of Wayne City and Springfield, Ill., died at 2:35 p.m. Thursday in the McLeansboro Nursing Home.

She was born Sept. 2, 1899, in Wayne county, the daughter of Calvin and Fannie (Chrisel) Smith.

She was married to Guy Buchanan who survives.

Other survivors include four sons, Alvy, Ralph and Vernon, all of Wayne City and Charles Buchanan of Aztec, N.M.; four daughters, Mrs. Lucille Ehrhart and Mrs. Barbara Montgomery, both of Wayne City, and Mrs. Sarah Woody and Mrs. Nellie Fotsch, both of St. Louis; a sister, Mrs. Onie Carpenter, Princeton, Ind.; 20 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Buchanan was a member of the Wayne City Baptist Church.
