William E. Brown

William E. Brown of RFD 7, Mt. Vernon, died at 4:45 p.m. Friday in Jefferson Memorial Hospital at the age of 75 years, nine months, and 14 days. He was employed at the Carr Recapping Service in this city.

Graveside services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Hopewell Cemetery with the Rev. Jimmie Carr officiating. Members of the American Legion will conduct military rites. The body will lie in state at the Pulley Funeral Home where friends may call after 4:00 p.m. today.

Mr. Brown was born Feb. 3, 1892, at Choes, N.Y. the son of Francis and Marguerite ( Girard ) Brown.

He was married to Emma Helen Beauford, who preceded him in death Mar. 11, 1954.

He is survived by two sons, William C. Brown and Frank R. Brown both of this city; three daughters, Mrs. Edna Keef and Mrs. Doris Jean Hughey, both of Mt. Vernon, and Mrs. Ruth L. Cope of Springfield, Ill; 23 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Mr. Brown, a veteran of World War One, was a member of American Legion Post 141 of this city.
