Mildred (Gossage) Brown

Mrs. Mildred Brown of Opdyke died of leukemia at 5:45 this morning at Jefferson Memorial Hospital.

Mrs. Brown, the wife of William C. Brown, was 31 years, four months and 20 days of age.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Pulley Funeral Home. The Rev. Tracy Dees will officiate and burial will be in Hopewell Cemetery. The body will remain at the Pulley Funeral Home, where friends may call after 10 a.m. Friday.

Mrs. Brown was born August 27, 1924 in Franklin county, the daughter of Sherman and Syivia Jane (Miller) Gossage.

On September 28, 1945 she was married, in Mt. Vernon, to William C. Brown, who survives.

Besides her husband and parents, she is survived by one son, Ralph Clydell, age 9; three brothers, William J. Gossage of Mt. Vernon, and Thomas H. and Lester Lee Gossage of Belvidere, Ill.; and three sisters, Virginia Mae Pitman of Belvidere and Mary Maxine Hayes and Juanita Phillips of Mt. Vernon.
