John Henry Bowdler

John Henry Bowdler of RFD 6, was dead on arrival at 1:20 am Sunday at Good Samaritan Hospital. He died of an apparent heart attack at the age of 54 years, five months and 26 days.

Funeral services will be head at 2:00 pm Tuesday at Pulley Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Olen Weatherford officiating. Burial will be in Hopewell Cemetery. The body will lie in state at Pulley Funeral Home where friends may call after 2:00 pm today.

Mr. Bowdler was born in Blithsburg, Ala., on Nov. 23, 1913, the son of George and Julia (Tyra) Bowdler.

On Oct. 18, 1933, in Cumberland, Ky., he married Elma Riddle, who survives.

Other survivors include five sons, James, Sidney, and Kenneth, and of Springfield, Ill., Jerry Wayne and Rickey G., both of Mt. Vernon; a daughter, Mrs. Betty Ruth Winkler of Mt. Vernon; three brothers, George and Rowland, both of Detroit, Mich., and Pete of Manchester, Ky.; two sisters, Mrs. Frances Hall of Battle Creek, Mich., and Mrs. Florence Glenn of Birmingham, Ala.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, William and Garrett, and by a sister, Stella Cornett.
