Jerry W. Bowdler

Jerry W. Bowdler, 58, of Texico, died 11:25 a.m. Dec. 26, 2000, at his home.

Mr. Bowdler was employed for several years at the General Radiator C. and later was the owner and operator of the Bowdler Radiator Repair until failing health.

He was born Sept. 6, 1942, in Cumberland, Ky. to John and Elma (Riddle) Bowdler; his mother survives.

He married N. Germaine Williams June 24, 1961, in Jefferson County; she survives.

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Friday at Hughey Funeral Home. The Rev. John Capps will officiate. Burial will be in Hopewell Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by six daughters, Annette Hardcastle and husband Randy of Salem, Cindy Bowdler of Luxora, Ark., Debby Sandy and husband Kevin of Dix, Gerri Hufford and husband Robin of Dix, Charlotte McMahan and husband Mike of Texico, and Stephanie Bowdler of Texico; a son, Sidney B. Bowdler and friend Robin of Mt. Vernon, 13 grandchildren; one great-grandson; two brothers, Sidney Bowdler and wife Karen of Mt. Vernon and Rick Bowdler and friend Jean of Radom; a sister, Betty Winkler and husband Jim of Bluford; also several nieces and nephews survive.

Mr. Bowdler was a member of the Mt. Vernon Gun and Sportsman Club since 1962, and a member of the Sons of the Legion American Legion Post 141 of Mt. Vernon.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and will be accepted at the funeral home.

Funeral services are under the direction of Hughey Funeral Home where you may call at 242-3348 for information at any time.
