Jesse Glenn Bond, Sr.

Jesse Glenn Bond, Sr., passed away at his home in Tucson, Ariz., on Monday, June 23, 2008, at the age of 58. Jesse was born Sept. 29, 1949, in Jefferson County.

Beloved husband of Evelyn (Fenton) Bond, married Nov. 8, 1986, in Mt. Vernon; devoted and loving dad to Jesse Glenn Bond, Jr. and Elise Bowman and her husband Jeremy; precious Grandpapaw to Lilly and Ivey; dear son of Marjorie (Peddicord) Bond and the late Jesse Glenn Bond; brother to the late Glenda Bond McLanahan; brother to Robert Goree and Joyce (Goree) Henken; and also an uncle, brother-in-law and valued friend. He offered a warm smile to every person he met.

Jesse was an electrician by trade. He served his country honorably in the United States Marine Corps, serving overseas in Vietnam. Jesse enjoyed a variety of interests and had a fun-loving spirit. He took on tasks with a sense of honor and delight. He was passionate about reading and studying his Bible to glorify his Savior Jesus Christ. Jesse faced many physical challenges in life with good nature and courage, never failing to thank God for each moment he had on this earth. He will be dearly missed.

Memorial services will be held at Christian Fellowship Church in Mt. Vernon on Saturday at 2 p.m. The Rev. Ron Aissie will officiate. Inurnment of ashes will be held at Pleasant Hill Cemetery at a later date.

The family will greet friends at 1 p.m. until the service time at 2 p.m. on Saturday at the church. Arrangements have been entrusted to Hughey FuneraJ Home.
