George Curtis Bliss

Once again death has summoned a loved one and the "Golden Gates
of Eternity" have swung open to welcome George Curtis BLISS, son
of George M. and Martha Jane BLISS, born at the old home place in
Dodds Township, September 22, 1875. Entered into rest March 26, 1932;
age 56 years, 6 months, 4 days. Was married to Effie BOOK,
January 30, 1909. To this union were born four children, two sons,
Seymore Ellis and George; two daughters, Jane and Evelyn. He leaves
to mourn their loss a broken hearted wife and children, three
brothers, namely, Jim and Anson Bliss, both in California, and
Seymour BLISS in Oregon; three sisters, Mary WALLACE, California;
Francis WILLIAMS, Ewing, Ill.; and Ellen PRIGMORE, Benton, Ill.,
besides a host of relatives and friends.

During his suffering, which lasted several days, he bore his
suffering with great patience and always greeted his relatives
and friends. The future didn't worry him and for them not to worry
about him. He was ready to go and passed away peacefully, was a
genial disposition loved by all who knew him, loving every one and
claimed all to be his friends. (The edge of this obit is torn and
I have added what I think the words might be.)

It is said that one we cherish
Should be taken from our home,
But the joys that do not perish,
Live in memory alone.

All the years we've spent together,
All the happy golden hours,
Shall be cherished in remembrance,
Fragrant sweets for memory's flowed.

Funeral services at 2:00 p.m.Sunday, March 17, 1932, at
Providence Church, conducted by Rev. C. A. CURRY. The body
was laid to rest in Arnold's Cemetery.
