James Beckman Dies at Age 37

James H. Beckman died at 6:00 p.m. yesterday at his home on state route 148, three miles southwest of Mt. Vernon. His age was 37 years, five months, and three days.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at South Hickory Hill church. The Rev. Marsh Harpole and the Rev. Leonard Stevenson will conduct the services and burial will be in the nearby cemetery.

The body will remain at the family home, where friends may call at any time until the funeral hour.

Mr. Beckman is survived by his wife, Leatha Belle, two sons, Charles and Keith, at home; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Beckman of Bonnie; three brothers, Howard of McLeansboro and Virgil and Johnny of Bonnie; and three sisters, Mrs. Herman Wilson of Bonnie, Mrs. Inez Engram of Herrin and Miss June Beckman of Bonnie.
