Louis G. "Lou" Beckham

Louis G. (Lou) Beckham, 90, of 1501 South 12th, died at 4:50 a.m. Wednesday, at Good Samaritan Hospital. He was a retired construction foreman on the Railroad.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Hughey Funeral Home, with the Rev. J. Howard Kraps officiating. Burial will be in the South Hickory Hill cemetery.

The body will lie in state at the Hughey Funeral Home, where friends may call after 6 p.m. today.

Mr. Beckham was born March 5, 1888, in Jefferson county, the son of William Green and Margaret (Osborn) Beckham.

On July 26, 1946, in corning, Ark., he was married to Eliza Ann (Betty) Davis, who survives.

Other survivors include two sons, Russell Beckham of Decatur, and Royal Beckham of Sacramento, Calif; two daughters, Mrs. Bernice Morris of Las Vegas, Nev., and Mrs. Wanda Combs of Kansas City, Kan.; 22 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by five sisters and four brothers.

Mr. Beckham was a member of the South Hickory Hill Christian Church.
