Lillie Beckham

Lillie Beckham, 89, of Route 1, Bonnie, died at 5:04 a.m. today at Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon.

Mrs. Beckham was born in Jefferson County on Sept. 10, 1888, the daughter of Bartus and Rosetta (Shelton) Martin.

She was married to Frank Beckham, who died in 1939.

Mrs. Beckham was a member of the Elk Prairie Christian Church.

Funeral services will be held Sunday at 1 p.m. at the Fry Funeral Chapel in Waltonville, with the Rev. Grant Hawkins officiating. Burial will be in South Hickory Hill Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 6 p.m. Saturday.

Mrs. Beckham is survived by three sons, Doris Beckham, Bonnie, Uhlam Beckham, Bonnie, and Joe Malcolm Beckham, Decatur; one daughter, Mrs. John (Opal) Frick, Evansville, Ind.; ten grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Lloyd Martin, Los Alamos, N.M., and Fred Martin, Amarillo, Texas; and a sister, Mrs. Opal Kirkpatrick, St. Louis, Mo.

She was preceded in death by her husband, and two brothers, Cecil and Malcolm.
