Joe Beckham

Funeral services for Joe Beckham, 62, of Route 1, Bonnie, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Johnston Funeral Home in Ina with the Rev. Gary Karch officiating.

Burial will follow in Smith Cemetery.

Friends of the family may call after 6 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mr. Beckham, farmer, died Wednesday evening at his home.

He was born in Illinois Oct. 31, 1917, the son of Van and Martha (Rightnowar) Beckham.

He married Anna Belle Ellis, who survives.

A veteran of World War II, Mr. Beckham was a member of the American Legion Post No. 141.

Besides his wife, survivors include six sons, Willie D. of Bonnie, Joe V. of Henderson, Texas, Darrell of Norwalk, Calif., Gerald D. of Selman City, Texas, and Larry and Lyle D., both of Belle Rive; one daughter, Mrs. Shirley Bushong of Tampa, Fla.; a niece, Mrs. Ellen Christson of Kansas City, Mo, who was raised in the Beckham home; 12 grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; and five sisters, Mrs. Effie Morgan, Mrs. Nellie Clark and Mrs. Mattie Dennis, all of Bonnie, Mrs. Opal Morgan of Mt. Vernon and Mrs. Nina Thompson of Whittington.

Mr. Beckham was preceded in death by his parents, one grandchild, four brothers and three sisters.
