Mrs. Caroline Bates died Thursday night at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Chas. Stonecipher, northeast of this city. Her death was due to heart trouble and death came as she was sitting in her chair.

The arrangements for the funeral were not learned.

BATES, PERMELIA C. - f., w., age 65y4m, b. Jefferson Co., lived Illinois lifetime, widow, house wife. Died Apr. 25, 1907, 9 pm in Field of angina pectoris. Buried Hopewell Cemetery Apr. 27. Undertaker Henry Bruce, Dix, IL. J. T. Whitlock, MD, Mt. Vernon.
