Robert M. Ballard

Robert M. Ballard Well Known Farmer Died Late Monday

Robert Mitchell Ballard died yesterday afternoon about 5 o'clock at his home south of Mt. Vernon. Mr. Ballard had been in poor health for a long time and his death was not unexpected.

He was born September 12, 1857 and would have been 67 years old had he lived until September 12 this year.

Mr. Ballard is survived by his wife and the following named sons and daughters; Morton, Earl and Arthur Ballard, and Miss Emma Ballard, Mrs. Jennie Murray, Mrs. Olive Smith, Oaks, N.D., and Mrs. Metta Wicoff, Champaign.

All of the children except the two last named, live in Jefferson county.

Mr. Ballard was a life long resident of Jefferson county, an excellent citizen, was well known and highly respected by everyone.

Funeral plans have not been made, but will be announced tomorrow.

Robert M. Ballard Will Be Buried Friday Afernoon

Robert M. Ballard, who died about 5 o'clock Monday afternoon, will be buried tomorrow afternoon. Services will be held at Wolf Prairie church at 2 o'clock and burial will follow at Wolf Prairie cemetery.

Burial was delayed pending the arrival of a member of the family from North Dakota.
