Arthur L. Baldridge
Arthur L. Baldridge, son of George A. Baldridge, and Laura A. Laur Baldridge, was born
Nov. 27, 1878, and passed away at 8:45 P.M. Tuesday, Jan 20, 1942, at his home on the farm
where he was born in Blissville township, Jefferson county, Illinois, northwest of Waltonville.
His age was 63 years, 1 month, and 24 days. Upon the death of his father, which occurred in 1897,
Arthur being the eldest child, assumed many responsibilities. His devotion to his widowed mother
was especially praiseworthy. The deep bond of affection which existed between mother and son until
the former's death in 1919, was often the subject of favorable comment on the part of friends of
the family.

On Nov. 27, 1923, Mr. Baldridge was united in marriage with Miss Minnie I. McLaughlin of Mt. Vernon.
To this happy union two sons were born. George Hiram and James Lee. Besides his companion and loving
sons Mr. baldridge is survived by two nephews, one niece and many other sorrowing relatives and a host
of friends. A sister, Mrs. Iva Wells and a brother, Alva l. baldridge preceded him in death.

Honesty, integrity, loyalty to high ideals were traits of character which made Arthur Baldridge one
of the most highly esteemed citizens of this community. He performed the multiple duties of life with
fine courage. Beloved by his family and all his associates he will long be remembered for the honerable
life he lived-an example worthy of emulation by his fellow men. He was a member of the Waltonville
I.O.O.F.lodge for many years.

Funeral services were held in Waltonville Methodist Church, Jan. 23, at 10 A.M.conducted by the
Rev. G. A. Pheips assisted by the local pastor. Rev. A. L. Shaefer. Interment at Knob Prairie cemetery.
