Lenora Ann (Rogers) Baker

Lenora A Baker,76, of Mt. Vernon,died 8:26pm Saturday, June 2,2012, at her daughter's, Cindy Baker, home in Indianapolis,Indiana from a long battle with breast cancer.

She was born on Monday, April 6, 1936, in Nason,IL, daughter of Geno R. and Luvera A. (Stewart) Rogers.

She married Carl T. Baker on June 19, 1960. He preceded her in death on Dec. 29, 1995.

Lenora worked as an operator for Illinois Bell Telephone. She was a member of Meadowbrook Christian Church and a member of Jefferson County Historical Society. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother. She was also wonderful to her little dog, Oscar. Lenora loved to travel, enjoyed genealogy, was a very unselfish woman and loved to laugh, she had an excellent sense of humor. Most of all she was a very faithful christian lady.

She is survived by daughters, Cindy Baker of Indianapolis, Ind. Karla Salisbury and husband James of Indianapolis, Ind. and Stephanie Rankin and husband Kenny of Mt. Vernon; grandchildren, Brian and wife Toni of Austin, TX, Blake Salisbury of Indianapolis, Ind, Chelsea Johnson, Jacob Thomas Johnson and Gabriel Johnson all of Mt. Vernon, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Mike Sheets officiating the services at Hughey Funeral Home and Interment at Mt Vernon Memorial Gardens in Woodlawn.
