Thomas Moses Atkins

Thomas Moses Atkins, 93, Waltonville, died at 2 p.m. Friday at Good Samaritan Hospital. He was a blacksmith for many years.

Mr. Atkins was born in Jefferson County Dec. 19, 1891, the son of E. C. (Doc) and Marthene (Baker) Atkins.

On Oct. 2, 1915 in Benton, he married Fern Isom, who survives.

He was of the Protestant Faith.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Fry and Frick Funeral Home with the Rev. Floyd Hartley officiating. Burial will be in Knob Prairie Cemetery.

Friends may call after 6 p.m. today at the funeral home.

In addition to his wife, survivors include two sons, Tommy Atkins and wife Rosemary of Mt. Vernon, Donald Atkins and wife Ruth Ann of Benton; two daughters, Mrs. Ila Newell of Mt Vernon, Mrs. Ray (Marie) Hall and Mrs. Leroy (June) Hamlin, both of Waltonville; 10 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
