Richard Allen

Richard ALLEN, well known and highly respected farmer residing two miles north of Ina, died at 4:20 a.m. last Thursday at the age of 85. Mr. ALLEN had been in failing health for several months, had lived alone on his farm for many years.

He is survived by three sons, Collin of Belle Rive, Clarence of Opdyke, and Fred of Decatur; six daughters, Elsie BOOK and Clara ALLEN of Ina, Ella THOMASON and Iona WILLIS of Mt. Vernon, Alma MEYERS of Kalamazoo, Mich., and Cora HAMILTON of Scheller; 21 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren. One, brother, Willie ALLEN of Sesser, also survives.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Ina Methodist Church, conducted by Rev. R. E. DICKEY. Burial was in the Kirk Cemetery under the direction of the Ina Funeral Home.
