Julia Ann (Bond) Allen of Decatur died June 2, 2005, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis of leukemia.

Mrs. Allen was born Feb. 16, 1946, in St. Louis to Dr. R. Jerry and Beatrice (Rough) Bond. .

Dr. Bond was a son of Neil and Fannie Bond of the Porter and Bond Drug Store and Beatrice was a daughter of W. Edward and Minnie Rough, also of Mt. Vernon. .

Beatrice and her daughters moved back to Mt. Vernon from St. Louis after Dr. Bond’s death in 1948. In 1958, they moved to Decatur..

Mrs. Allen graduated from Millikin University and Baylor University School of Medical Technology. .

She married Gary Allen in Decatur in 1970. They were blessed with two sons, Douglas and Bradley. .

Mrs. Allen is survived by her husband, Gary; sons Douglas Allen and wife Beverly of Charlotte, N.C., and Bradley Allen and wife Jennifer of Decatur; a sister, Mary Jane Bond of Royal Oak, Mich.; and a granddaughter, Raleigh Faith Allen of Decatur.
