Clara Alexander Dies at age 83; Rites Monday

Mrs. Clara Alexander, 83, of 613 South 23rd Street, died at 11:55 pm Friday at the Setzekorn Nursing Home.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm. Monday at the Hughey-Pully Funeral Home. The Rev. J. J. Boggs will officiate and burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery.

The body will lie in state at the Hughey-Pully Funeral Home where friends may call from 5:00 to 9:00pm Sunday.

Mrs. Alexander was born Dec. 23, 1887, in Jefferson County, the daughter of Hiram and Alwida (Fults) Hayes. She was married to Clyde Alexander, who preceded her in death in 1942.

Survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Bessie Coriell, of Mt. Vernon, and Mrs. Nellie Wilson, of Jacksonville, Ill., and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Alexander was also preceded in death by her parents, four brothers and two sisters.
