Funeral Sunday for Pettis Bumpus

Well attended funeral services for Pettis Bumpus 86 years old farmer who died at his home east of Bonnie Thursday, were held at 11 O'Clock Sunday Morning at Moores Prairie Baptist Church better known as Hungry Hill Church. The services were conducted by Rev Raymond Pierce, pastor of the church, assisted by Rev Bird Green of Mt. Vernon and burial followed in Round Knoll cemetery.

Mr. Bumpus familiarly known as Uncle Pettis, is survived by his widow, Julia age 83; two sons, Ivan of Bonnie and Sam of Mt. Vernon., and two daughters, Mrs. Herman Smith of Disney, Okla and Mrs Hollis Burke of Bonnie. Mr. and Mrs. Bumpus had been married 62 years.
